Terms of Use
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Welcome to Data Coding, operated by DataCase ("we", "us", "our"). These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of our website, lessons, practice problems, memberships and related services (the "Service").
By using the Service, creating an account or buying a membership, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age to consent to online services where you live, to create an account. To buy a membership you must be of the age of majority where you live, or have the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms.
2. Learning only
The Service teaches coding for data work (SQL, Python, pandas and NumPy) and is for education only. It isn't career, legal, financial or professional advice, and we don't promise any interview result, job offer or other outcome.
3. Company names and simulated data
Some exercises are set in businesses like well-known companies so they feel realistic. Company names are used only to describe the kind of business. We aren't affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any company named, and all trademarks belong to their owners.
All practice data is made up by us. Our questions are original or simulated teaching material, not real or leaked interview questions or any employer's materials.
4. Your account
Some features, like checking answers and saving progress, need a free account. Keep your login details safe; you're responsible for activity on your account. One account is for one person.
5. Code you run
Code you write on the Service runs inside your own web browser, not on our servers. You're responsible for the code you write and run.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, resell or share the Service's content, or a paid membership, beyond your own personal learning;
- use bots or automated tools to access the Service in ways we haven't allowed;
- interfere with the Service's security or operation;
- use the Service for anything unlawful.
7. Payments and Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
This is why your card or bank statement shows Paddle, and may also show DataCase, the company that runs Data Coding. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's Buyer Terms and Privacy Policy.
8. Pro membership, billing and cancelling
Data Coding Pro is a subscription. The plans, prices and billing periods are shown on our pricing page and at checkout, in US dollars, plus any applicable taxes calculated at checkout. There is no free trial.
Your membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and Paddle charges your payment method for the next period, until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page or through the link in your Paddle receipt. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for.
We may change prices for future billing periods. If we do, we'll tell you before the change applies to your membership, and you can cancel before it does.
9. Refunds
Refunds are handled as set out in our Refund Policy, which follows Paddle's refund policy and your rights under the consumer laws where you live. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under those laws.
10. Our content
The Service, including its lessons, problems, explanations, data, design and branding, belongs to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use it for your own learning.
11. Feedback
If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them to improve the Service without owing you anything.
12. Other services
The Service relies on other providers, such as Paddle for payments and Clerk for sign-in, and may link to other websites. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them, and we aren't responsible for them.
13. Changes to the Service
We may add, change or remove parts of the Service. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or work on every device or browser.
14. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
15. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that led to it.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Subject to any consumer rights that can't be waived, the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction over disputes about the Service.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version here with a new date; if a change is significant, we'll also tell members by email. Using the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
