PayPal's finance team reports payment volume in US dollars, but payments come in USD, EUR and GBP. Exchange rates in fx_rates are published on weekdays only, and a few days are missing. The rule: use the latest rate published on or before the payment's date.
For completed transactions in the first quarter of 2026 (January to March), convert each amount to USD, then show the total USD volume per merchant category. USD amounts stay as they are; EUR and GBP amounts are multiplied by that currency's rate for the day.
